Sam Gelin

Founder - MADE Hotel

The source of Sam Gelin’s drive to produce Manhattan’s most innovative and culturally relevant hotel concept, Made, is a genuine passion for creating a unique, creatively inspiring experience for guests. Made is a top-to-bottom reinvented hospitality project, making it a truly distinctive product and spawned entirely from Gelin’s own dedication to providing inventive hospitality ventures. Designed with contemporary, global-minded, creative individuals in mind, Made promises to be a favorite amongst the local and international creative community.

After a start in the world of finance and private aviation, Sam founded a boutique experiential company devoted to producing meaningful food and beverage experiences, including the lauded annual NYC Craft Distillers Festival, DC Wine Fest, and San Francisco Coffee Fest, amongst others. Taking his desire to enhance the flavor of life quite literally, Sam handcrafts a premium finishing salt, harvested from Ditch Plains Beach, marketed under the brand Montauk Salt Co.

Unable to find a hotel in New York that authentically understands his demographic, Sam took on the task of creating one. Made is an 18 floor iconic, inclusive, sensory hub in the NOMAD neighborhood, offering a reinvented approach toward hospitality, including a completely new approach toward materials and the guestroom experience, culturally relevant collaborations, and engaging food and beverage spaces.

Sam is a graduate of Fordham University and earned a law degree at Seton Hall University School of Law. He holds a certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University.
